Thanks to Florida’s pioneering Alternative Energies Technologies Grant Program, Nanak’s Landscaping has been able to take some major steps toward a renewable future. This grant has helped us to improve Florida’s environment while promoting the clean energy technology that is so important to the well-being of our planet.

Working in cooperation with the state of Florida, we have installed a 20 kW Solar PV System at our Orlando facility and corporate headquarters, enabling us to operate on solar power since January of this year. The system helps us to increase energy efficiency and cuts down on our output of greenhouse gases (CO2).

We have also invested in a fleet of Prius Hybrids and other high-mileage vehicles for our regional and operational managers. Achieving 50 miles per gallon, these vehicles will save 15,000 gallons of fuel this year alone.

As you can see from the real-time graphic below, Nanak's is making more energy than we need and sending the excess back to the power grid. Our efforts to improve energy efficiency are setting a leading example of the progress that is possible when business and government work together to solve our country’s energy challenges.
